🎲 How'd You Like to Win Something? Big Book Giveaway!

Do you have one of those Buy, Sell, Giveaway Facebook groups for your community? (Love these!)

If not, I highly recommend it! (Find and join now!)

I'm constantly posting on our local board as a way to clear the neverending clutter that comes along with childrearing--and it feels good! I've also been known to put out an ISO post on there when I need something too.

Most recently I posted asking if anyone had any houseplants they were looking to rehome. 🪴 Because, well, my husband forbids me to spend any more of my $ on houseplants. And because I prefer he not spend so much on small-batch microbrews (!), I agreed.

(Turns out, I have almost as many dead plants as I have live ones in my home right now 🤦🏼‍♀️. Dear Future Plants, I promise to do better! I've learned some things and I can change.)

Anyway, the MOST exciting thing happened!

Someone on the page put my name into a drawing and I won a fern! A beautiful, full bright green fern!

Winning something is just SO very exciting. Even the tiniest thing... I was jumping around the living room, squealing with excitement and delight and gratitude and I was telling myself "See, I knew good things were coming!" ... and then my girls were jumping around too.

(They had no idea what I was celebrating, but still, we had SO fun!)

The Best Part: Now It's Your Chance to Win! 🎁

Okay, so I can't afford to mail you a fern.

But I CAN mail you a book.

On November 22nd, Diet-Proof Your Daughter is turning ONE YEAR OLD!

🎂 Happy Birthday, Diet-Proof!

Yes, it's the FIRST ANNIVERSARY of publication. In honor of that fact, and because I was just personally reminded of how very, very thrilling it is to win something, I've thought it'd be great to do a giveaway of my own.

On 11/22, I'll choose 5 names randomly from anyone who enters*.

Reply to this email with your name and the word "BOOK" to enter! It's that simple. Soon YOU TOO may have a little thrill of your own xoxox

Thank you, again, to everyone who lived the stories in this book, praised the content, and held my hand to make it come to life!

*If you live in the US, I will mail you a paperback copy to the US address provided. If you live outside the US, I will gift you a KINDLE copy. Winners will be notified via email on 11/23. Please feel free to share!

Double Love,

P.S.

Hello, again! Guess what I've been two for the past ten months for seven hours a day, three days a week? Talking to tweens and teens about.... eating! (And body image because, well, body image has a huge impact on our kids' eating. So that just comes up over and over and over.) Why am I doing all this talking? Because I started back working at the medical center here in New York a few days a week and I'm stationed smack dab in adolescent medicine. (My perfect place, of course!) Talking to...

Ever have that "I'm stuffed but I'm still hungry feeling?" Kinda like how I felt after eating a gianormous plate of BBQ at a friend's house last week, swearing I couldn't fit in "one more thing" and then, ten minutes later, waltzing back over to the dessert table searching for some of those butter cookies. If feeling like you want "just a little" more even though you've eaten a lot makes you feel just a little bit anxious, I hear you! {And if hearing your daughter ask for dessert after...

Here's some #realtalk for y'all! This post took me months to write! (And not in a good way... more like a this.feels.so.hard.I'm.gonna.keep.procrastinating.about.it kinda way!) What made it so tough? Well, at one point in my book research, I handed my daughter a graphic novel to read without realizing that it just happened to be all about eating disorders. (Oops!) If that sounds intriguing, scary, or both, you can read more about it and other issues I encountered in writing this up about...
